The Croatian peninsula of Istria cuts into the Adriatic Sea, and is dotted with coastal towns perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The region is rich in cultural and historical heritage from Roman times and the Middle Ages.

Its most famous monument of the Roman Empire is the magnificent Arena which has survived for over 2000 years. Istria is a truffle lovers' paradise, and local dishes are adorned with the delicacy whenever possible.
