The Loire Valley is famous for its Renaissance chateaus and medieval fortresses built by French nobles from the 13th Century onwards. They are a testament to over a thousand years of abundant architectural and artistic creativity.

The river valley is also known for its outstanding wines (red, white, rosé and sparkling) and lively, sophisticated cities, including Orléans, Blois, Tours and Angers. For cyclists, there are over 800km of tracks from which to explore the entirety of the valley's wonders - with the entire area being a Unesco World Heritage Site.
